1. Visa Application
- At Diplomatic missions abroad (of the Republic of Korea)
- Local immigration office if staying in Korea
2. Eligible Applicants for Visa
- Eligibility: Overseas business owners or foreigners affiliated with international companies who can work remotely and have worked in the same industry for at least one year, and their accompanying family members
- Age: 18 years of (full) age or older (Except for dependent children)
3. Income Requirements
- Those with more than twice the GNI per capita of the previous year as announced by the Bank of Korea
- GNI per capita as of 2022: KRW 42.48 million (3.54 million Korean won per month)
- Required income: KRW 84.96 million (7.08 million Korean won per month)
4. Subscription to Medical Insurance
- It is mandatory to subscribe to individual medical insurance with coverage of at least KRW 100 million for medical treatment and repatriation to home country during stay.
5. Documents to Submit
- Visa application form (Form No. 17), passport, 1 standard size photo, fee
- Documents proving income such as certificate of employment, certificate of salary and bank transaction certificate
- Criminal record certificate, certificate of medical insurance, and certificate of family relations (if accompanied by dependents)
- Note: Criminal Record Certificate must be attached with Apostille (Consular Legalization)
6. Stay in Korea
- Period of stay: One year is granted from the date of entry when registering as a foreigner and extendable for one additional year (maximum 2 years)
- Employment Activities: Employment/profit-making activities are restricted
- Change of Status: Those staying in Korea on a short-term tourist visa (B-1, B-2, C-3) are allowed to change to a Digital Nomad (Workcation) visa when meeting the relevant requirements
